John D. Thomas 

Acting Assistant Commissioner for Leasing, Public Buildings Service (PBS)

John began his career with the General Services Administration in 1987 as a realty specialist intern in the Rocky Mountain Region.  As a realty specialist, John’s primary responsibilities involved acquiring real property leases for occupancy by Government agencies.  In 1991, John moved to the Washington DC area to join GSA’s National Capital Region as a leasing specialist and, since that time, has held various realty management positions in the Public Buildings Service and Office of Governmentwide Policy.  From 2009 to present, he has been in the PBS Office of Leasing and now serves as the Acting Assistant Commissioner for Leasing, providing national leadership and oversight, strategic planning and policy direction for GSA PBS’s leasing program.  John has a degree in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
